Protection of immovable objects of cultural heritage under aggressive war conditions: theoretical and practical aspects

Abstract

The aim of this paper is to analyze the theoretical foundations and practical components of the protection of immovable objects of cultural heritage in the conditions of an aggressive war unleashed by russia on the territory of Ukraine. Methodology. The author uses as a methodological basis of this study the principles and methods of the cultural approach to the analysis of numerous publications, practical experience and norms of national legislation on the protection of cultural heritage. Results. Circumstances that significantly complicate the protection of immovable monuments in the conditions of martial law include the lack of direct legislative regulation of monument protection activities in this period, the practical possibility of predicting the degree of risk for them within different regions of our country, sufficient funding for the protection of monuments depending on their type and actual location. Novelty. It was determined that despite the state of war, the activities of the state registration of immovable objects of cultural heritage under the category of national or local importance continue. It was also argued that in the context of ensuring the protection of immovable objects of cultural heritage, the methods of “physical protection” cannot be applied to all their types.
