Movement of knowledge: Introducing medical humanities perspectives on medicine, science, and experience

Abstract

In this introductory chapter, we look at how medical knowledge can be addressed in the medical humanities and argue for an interdisciplinary approach in studying the movement of knowledge. We set out the main themes of the book, looking at how knowledge is conceptualised in different settings, the use of evidence-based medicine and the ways in which knowledge is produced and consumed in everyday experiences.
