Abstract

Social media has a huge potential in the domain of Consumer-to-Consumer (C2C) e-commerce. We plan to exploit this opportunity through matching social media messages from users who are interested in selling and buying items. Such C2C matching in real time is none-trivial due to the complexities of interpreting social media messages, diversity of products/services, sheer number of messages, and computational requirements. Alternatively, if such matching can be done in (near) real-time, it provides a greater potential both to the buyers and sellers.
