Abstract

A method of reliability assessment of a fiber optical communication line (FOCL) is proposed taking into consideration the temperature actions on optical fibers. The reliability of the FOCL is estimated by a readiness coefficient. Theoretical studies are performed using Markov chain theory and probabilistic mathematical simulation. The accepted value of the readiness coefficient allows us to determine the maximum servicing interval for FOCL. The paper was financially supported by the Ministry of Education and Science of the Russian Federation within the framework of the basic part of the state task in the field of scientific activity (project No. 8.9334.2017/8.9).
