Abstract
Power distribution demands for a ubiquitous communication network to enable the emerging Internet of Things (IoT) applications in Smart Grid. This paper focuses on the problem of the provisioning of multi-service access and quality of service (QoS) guarantees. A priority-queue-controlled multi-service access mechanism is proposed to carry various services including telemetering, remote control and sensor data transmission. Meanwhile, QoS guarantee schemes are proposed to provide reliable communication channel for remote control and smart metering services through data caching and link handover. Experiments are carried out to evaluate the effectiveness of the proposed scheme.
