PENENTUAN STATUS MUTU AIR SUNGAI MARTAPURA DI KOTA BANJARMASIN MENGGUNAKAN METODE STORET

Abstract

ABSTRAKSungai sangatlah penting bagi masyarakat Kalimantan Selatan sehingga berkembang suatu aktivitas di sungai yang akan mempengaruhi kualitas air sungai. Aktivitas masyarakat seperti kegiatan industri domestik, dan kegiatan yang lainnya akan berakibat terhadap sumber daya, diantaranya mempengaruhi kualitas air. Pada penelitian ini, metode yang digunakan adalah metode STORET. Penggunaan metode ini mengacu pada Keputusan Menteri Lingkungan Hidup No. 113 Tahun 2003. Secara prinsip metode STORET adalah membandingkan antara data kualitas air dengan baku mutu air yang disesuaikan dengan peruntukannya guna menentukan status mutu air. Cara untuk menentukan status mutu air adalah dengan menggunakan system nilai dari US-EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) dengan mengklasifikasikan status mutu air dalam empat kelas. Tujuan dari penelitian ini adalah memberikan informasi acuan untuk pengelolaan air sungai di Kota Banjarmasin. Status mutu air Sungai Martapura di Kota Banjarmasin dengan menggunakan metode STORET diketahui tercemar berat.Kata kunci: Air, Indeks Pencemaran, STORET, SungaiABSTRACTRivers are very important for the people of South Kalimantan so that an activity develops in the river that will affect the quality of river water. Community activities such as domestic industrial activities, and other activities will have an impact on resources, including affecting water quality. In this study, the method used is the STORET method. The use of this method refers to the Decree of the Minister of the Environment No. 113 of 2003. In principle, the STORET method is to compare water quality data with water quality standards that are adjusted to their designation in order to determine the status of water quality. The way to determine the status of water quality is to use the value system of the US-EPA (Environmental Protection Agency) by classifying the status of water quality into four classes. The purpose of this study is to provide reference information for river water management in Banjarmasin City. The water quality status of the Martapura River in Banjarmasin City using the STORET method is known to be heavily polluted.Keywords: Pollution Index, River, STORET, Water.
