Abstract
The grounding mode of the medium voltage direct current distribution system based on the modular multi-level converter is very important for the reliability of power supply system, overvoltage and insulation coordination, relay protection, communication interference, and system stability and so on. Firstly, from the main characteristics of the medium voltage direct current distribution system based on the modular multi-level converter, the types of grounding modes and the types of fault are summarized. Secondly, the single-phase ground fault in alternating current side and the pole-to-ground fault in direct current side under the different grounding modes were Compared, and a simulation model of medium voltage direct current distribution system in power system computer aided design and electric magnetic transient in DC system is established for analysis. Finally, according to the difference of the access system schemes of the medium voltage direct current distribution system, a recommended grounding scheme is proposed.
