Abstract

A compact microstrip antenna design has been proposed for L- and C-band application. This design includes E- slots, concentric rectangular slots and shorting pins. The combined effect of these slots and the shorting pins reduced the operating frequency of the conventional structure to 1.156 GHz from 3.8 GHz. Thus, around 69% of miniaturization has been achieved in this work. The proposed structure is designed with FR4 substrate of 18×21 mm2.
