The ways of improving the method of accounting for asynchronous motors when calculating a short circuit for choosing the settings of automatic switches are proposed. Abstract

In this paper investigates the influence of the listed factors on the error in calculating short-circuit currents from the point of view of their significance for choosing the settings of instant-action releases of circuit breakers using the example of an auxiliary electrical installation at TPP (Thermal Power Plant) #1 in Dushanbe, Republic of Tajikistan with nine asynchronous motors. The paper describes a computational mathematical model developed in the EMTP (ElectroMagnetic Transient Program, Powersys, France).
