Abstract

A new communication technique based on the utilisation off synthetic chaos is described. This spread spectrum communication regime is enabled through the use of pseudonoise (PN) sequences, also referred to as direct sequences (DS). Attention is given to both point-to-point and multi-user communication. It is demonstrated that direct modulation of a modified logistic mapping can be used to achieve orthogonality among the users. Furthermore it is illustrated that the user-to-user isolation can be improved by the proper selection of the mapping parameters. The resulting communication regime promises to accommodate more users than the direct sequence CDMA regime.
