Abstract

To understand the success of Internet payment system it is necessary to analyse their quality with a precise methodology based on the user needs. Our results provide objective explanations on the success factors of Internet payment systems, and the domination of SSL on the market. More over, unsuccessful experiences show that it is necessary to wonder about network effects and the (business) models to implement in order to avoid killing a new Internet payment system before launching it.
