Abstract

This article focuses on the performing experimentation of two different types of current sensors that are to be implemented in a logic decisional process for an automated system of a Smart Grid. The purpose of the experiment is to determine which is the fittest and affordable sensor for energy monitoring of a residential power grid based on renewable energy sources. The experimental comparison is between a Hall sensor and a classical split-core, inductive, current transformer.
