Abstract
This article presents the design of a bi-directional series resonant DC-DC converter for hybrid electric vehicles using supercapacitors as the peak power unit. To achieve high efficiency, the converter is operated at zero current switching. The converter design, operation and working modes will be introduced and a control strategy, to keep the vehicle DC bus voltage stable, will be proposed.
