Abstract
To realize an intelligent and automatic way to test the ability of the metasurface to control electromagnetic (EM) waves, we first design an element with a certain structure, which is loaded with active devices (PIN diodes) and is controlled by the digital bias voltage. Thus, the phase responses of the unit can vary according to the bias voltage. So, we can switch the functionality of the element easily by just controlling the bias voltage. After designing the cell, the corresponding metasurface is created, and its function is simulated under CST microwave studio. At last, an experiment scheme is put forward based on an automatic scanning rack and MATLAB software project, both physically and virtually, reducing the workload to obtain data on EM properties.
