A Smart Electrocardiogram Monitoring System on Android

Abstract

An electrocardiogram is a recording of electrical activity of a heart used for diagnostics. It could help to detect person falling asleep or a heart attack based on their heart rate. Since commercial electrocardiogram systems in the market are not open source platforms, this work presents a structure of a smart system, which measures biosignals, transfers data via Bluetooth, displays real-time electrocardiogram and body temperature on mobile phone supporting Android and warns user by alert sound and coloured notification if their heart rate is out of standard range.
