Abstract

The paper describes SWANN, a computer program for the fast simulation of nonlinear switched analog networks. Switching elements, like diodes or transistors, can be modeled as open and short circuits. The program accepts all linear elements; nonlinear elements are modeled by cubic splines. Using a new theory, the program overcomes switching transients of ideal switches with only four integration steps and gives correct responses after switching. It allows the accelerated steady-state analysis of periodic networks and the harmonic content of steady-state responses is provided.
