Mitigating an Infodemic: Can The Professions Still Regulate Themselves?

Abstract

In the article, the author discusses issues in healthcare, particularly the proliferation of infodemic or bad information/misinformation and the need to address it. Topics include the claim by the World Health Organization (WHO) that infodemic causes confusion and risk-taking behaviours that could be harmful to health and the proliferation of infodemic during the COVID-19 health crisis.
