Abstract

The main strength of Augmented Reality (AR) technology is the ability to immediately provide context in unfamiliar environments and experiences, representing digital virtual information that is associated with real world objects. AR has a proven record of commercial applications from tourism and entertainment industries to manufacturing and support services. In this work we are presenting a set of design decisions based on empirical observations for outdoor Augmented Reality. Present work led us to develop a consumer AR browser for mobile and wearable devices to be used in natural, uncontrolled settings.
