Abstract
A concept of a time modulated antenna array (TMAA) has been already well described in terms of radiation pattern synthesis and transmission of digitally modulated signals. Nevertheless, not so many experimental models were designed and measured. Methodology for measurements of time modulated antennas is not standardized, therefore evaluation and comparison of TMAAs may not be feasible. This paper presents measurements of the TMAA radiation pattern using standard instrumentation, i.e. a microwave signal generator, a vector network analyzer, and a spectrum analyzer. Proposed method of measurement is compared for various scenarios.
