Abstract

Our aim in this paper is to use the freely available OSS-7 implementation stack of DASH7 RFID based WSN protocol and improve its existing software scheduler for better energy consumption. We have proposed substantial changes in the scheduler for OSS-7 v1.0 in terms of insertion, sorting and search algorithms. This scheduler fulfils the functionality and at the same time it is extremely light weight to cater to the memory constraints on the target Texas Instruments Wizzimote platform. This gives us performance improvements up to 75%, on average, in terms of execution time thus leading to reduced dynamic power consumption.
