Abstract

Power systems can become vulnerable due to human errors, natural calamities, impacts of power markets, and cascading events caused by hidden failures of protective devices. The technologies of intelligent agents and multi-agent system are proposed for handling of complex, dynamic, and distributed systems. This paper reports a multi-agent system that provides preventive and corrective self-healing strategies to avoid catastrophic failures of a power system. This paper is focused on the agent technology and multi-agent system specifications.
