PRINCIPLES OF COMPILING A LEARNER’S EXPLANATORY DICTIONARY OF BRITISH-AMERICAN DIFFERENCES

Abstract

The article looks at the principles of compiling a learner’s dictionary of British-American differences in lexical nomination. The main feature of the dictionary is availability of explanations in English and in Russian. The author describes theoretical grounds, aim and objectives of the dictionary. An example of a dictionary entry is provided
