Form and Counter-Narratives: Using Understanding Comics with Pre-Service Teachers

Abstract

ABSTRACT:In this article, the author describes the use of Scott McCloud's Understanding Comics in literacy courses with preservice teachers. The article includes information about how the book has been central to conversations about comics work, as well as examples of how the author has used the text to link to particular comics titles.
