Abstract
Current article discusses the usefulness of Okumura-Hata model in urban areas for 2G and 3G communication systems. At some places, applicability of the model is observed and extended to a lower distance from the tower than the specified minimum distance specified in the model. Authors did an extensive drive test and post processed data and proposed theoretical modified model which is presented and compared for different data sets at different locations. 3rd order interpolating polynomial was also used which helps in reasonable prediction for RF engineers.
