Therefore, in order to avoid erroneous identification, the encoded formats are necessary to be unified for communicating within heterogeneous information systems. In this study we designed a home-based elder healthcare information system which was established by Microsoftreg XP operation system. And, the DICOM was used as the core of data file format to reserve the profit, Microsoft SQL server as the database to store and manage the encoded DICOM files, and IIS to provide Web service for families and health care providers to viewing the data saved in the database.
