Abstract

The reliability and trouble-free operation both thermal and nuclear power plants depend on the quality of water purification of the heat carrier. In nuclear power plants, the water fulfils three functions: heat carrier; neutron decelerator; and neutron absorbent. Therefore, exacting requirements are placed on the water heat carrier. In Russia, reactors of two types-water-water power reactor (WWPR) and high-power reactor boiling (HPRB) are applied.
