GOLD EXPLORATION STRATEGIES IN GREENSTONE BELTS BASED ON DIGITAL IMAGE PROCESSING OF LINEAMENT NETWORKS

Abstract

The mapping of lineament networks in greenstone belts of the northern Baltic Shield provides the basis for correlation analysis of 75 parameters of the lineament network in an area of known gold mineralization. Results of the analysis indicate definite structural control for certain types of gold mineralization and make it possible to delimit prospective areas.
