The armature inductances are the summation of inductances corresponding to the rotor magnetic path and the electric excitation path. The electric excitation path is highly effected by saturation, the nonlinear of the inductances are much more notable than conventional PM machine. On the other hand, the field current not only affects the saturation of the electric excitation path, but the main magnetic path. Abstract
