An overview is given of the Space Station Freedom Program's (SSFP's) software support environment (SSE) project by describing its life cycle, which includes the requirements phase, software design and coding phases, and testing phase; discussing the general activities that support the operational increment (OI) activities; and taking a look at the SSE's future.<>
