Abstract

This paper reports the theory, design and measurement results of a 1-tap feed-forward equalizer based on cascode amplifier cells designed with InP heterojunction bipolar transistors. This analog equalizer exhibits a measured peaking frequency of 108 GHz, as well as a maximal peaking amplitude of more than 38 dB. To the authors' knowledge, this is the highest peaking frequency reported to date.
