Abstract

A modified phase pulse signal is proposed to analyze the effect of the shape of the phase pulse signal which exerts an influence upon the phase trajectory of continuous phase modulation (CPM). Using the minimum Euclidean distance, the 99% bandwidth, and their tradeoff, the performance of convolutional coded CPM with the modified phase pulse signal is analyzed.
