The issues of violations in operation of technical means of electric trains are considered, the most unreliable components and parts that negatively affect the operation of motor-car rolling stock as a whole are identified. The main causes of premature failures of batteries as one of the most unreliable devices on electric trains have been established. The design, the principle of operation of the battery, its functions are given, the reasons for the premature failure of this unit are considered. As a method of increasing reliability of batteries, the authors propose the use of a device that can increase reliability of this node by eliminating the main causes of failures, explains the scheme and principle of operation of the proposed device, reveals the features of its operation. Special attention is paid to the adjustment characteristics of the proposed unit, its main functions and advantages in its use are revealed. Abstract

The issue of improving reliability of some components and parts of electric trains to reduce the number of unscheduled repairs, which contributes to improving the organization of maintenance of electric trains, is under study. The issues of violations in operation of technical means of electric trains are considered, the most unreliable components and parts that negatively affect the operation of motor-car rolling stock as a whole are identified.
