Abstract

The study aims at examining some of modern literary and critical concepts most frequently used in ancient as well as modern literary and critical domains, with view at linking its old and new denotations , in addition to tracing its semantic development, the extent to which its connotations in old as well as new critical studies are related, and linking these concepts prevalent in heritage sources to western critical concepts.
