Abstract

This paper overviews the state of the art of switched reluctance machines (SRM) and their potential application in propulsion of electric vehicles (EV) and hybrid electric vehicles (HEV). Three-phase SRM configurations have been advised, in order to reduce the inverter cost, and a relationship between their numbers of stator-poles and rotor-poles have been established.
