A New Series, Ovulares, of the Genus Eucalyptus based on the Subseries Ovularinae Pryor & Johnson

Abstract

The series Ovulares Brooker (series Dundasianae Pryor & Johnson in part) is established. The new series is based on the informal subseries Ovularinae Pryor & Johnson, that is four of the five species in the series Dundasianae but excluding, on account of its bisected cotyledons, E. dundasii Maiden on which the series' name was based by Pryor and Johnson. Two new species in the series are described, namely E. myriadena Brooker and E. cydostoma Brooker. A botanical description, distribution and notes on associated Eucalyptus species are given for the six species of the new series.
