Study of depressiveness of the Russian federation territories (on the example of the regions of the North-Western Federal district)

Abstract

This article is devoted to the genesis of depressed regions in the territorial structure of the Russian Federation. The reasons that lead to the emergence of a depressive state of the region, as well as their classification, are determined. Methodological guidelines for determining the depressiveness of the territory are considered and one of them is tested on the example of the regions of the North-Western Federal district (NWFD).
