Perspectives and Derived Extensions of Dialogue Acts

Abstract

Wir betrachten die Rolle, die die Perspektiven der Dialogteilnehmer bei der Erweiterung des Gebrauchs von Dialog-Akten spielen. Wir konzentrieren uns auf Beispiele des referentiellen Gebrauchs von Kennzeichnungen und von Deklarativsatzen. Wenn wir eine Klasse von Dialogsituationen bestimmt haben, die fur den jeweiligen Gebrauch prototypisch ist, dann erlaubt es die beschrankte Information — oder Desinformation — der Teilnehmer den Gebrauch systematisch auf neue Situationen zu ubertragen, wobei der erweiterte Gebrauch allerdings zu anderen Interpretationen fuhren kann. We consider the role of perspectives of dialogue participants for the extension of dialogue acts to new situations. We concentrate on the examples of the referential use of definite descriptions, and on the utterance of sentences in declarative mood. If we have characterised a class of prototypical situations where such a specific act can be performed, then the limited information — or misinformation — of the participants allow to derive systematically new situations where the same act can be performed, but might be interpreted differently.
