One was to weaken the strength of the coal floor directly, the other was to weaken the strength of both sides of the coal body, so as to relieve the horizontal stress of the floor. The results showed that the distance of the peak stress displayed stepped change with the increasing strength weakening of the coal body. The distance of the peak stress was 8.75 meters without any measures, the distance was 6.25 meters when decreased 1 %~ 20%, the distance was 6.25 meters to 8.75 meters when decreased 20%~30%, and the distance stayed on 8.75 meters when it was reduced by more than 40%, at this time peak stress had already transferred to the floor strata and the rock burst hazard almost disappeared.
