The author also argues that designers ought to study more on Chinese culture rather than elements, including history and color preference, in order not to awkwardly violate cultural taboo. Abstract

With analysis on two highly discussed Chinese style culture and creative products (Nike Air Foamposite One Tianjing and Jade Hare & Laurel washi tapes from the Palace Museum), this paper attempts to explore whether they indicate different Chinese and western philosophy and aesthetics, discussing about the preference of traditional Chinese art.
