“I Don’t Want Them Working Alongside Me”, or Assessing Performance of Physiotherapy Students on Clinical Placement

Abstract

Abstract This qualitative focus group study (43 participants) aimed to explore if ‘failure to fail’ underperforming students is an issue for UK physiotherapy educators. We identified six main themes which are involved in assessment decision-making. An overarching focus on patient safety, protecting the public and the profession’s reputation underpinned accurate reporting.
