Abstract

This paper reports the results of a preliminary study of three-phase four-wire systems that supply unbalanced nonlinear loads. The work describes the effect of neutral path impedance on voltage and current distortion. It was found that nonlinear load unbalance may cause over voltages and injection of nonzero-sequence treble harmonic currents that may cause significant differences among the line-to-neutral voltages and mildly taint the line-to-line voltages with treble harmonics.
