Abstract

For best performance in image compression, scalar wavelet requires filters that combine a number of desirable properties, such as orthogonality and symmetry. The Multiwavelet is a complete orthonormal and symmetry. Multiwavelet shows promise in obviating some of the Multiwavelt with orthonormal Barkel wavelet, and 9/7 wavelet in image compression performance on 6 gray scale images.
