Abstract

a single short pulse laser output below 100 ps is demonstrated with $\Gamma$ -switch VCSEL. Short pulse is realized by controlling the transverse mode distribution by free carrier plasma effect in oxide confined VCSEL. Pulse train is also demonstrated with tuning electric amplitude.
