Emotional Intelligence (EQ) in the Classroom, in Writing, on Teams

Abstract

Emotional Intelligence (EQ) is essential for building healthy relationships, making it a strategic concept for developing professionals and a compelling course theme in business communication. This paper outlines the execution of an EQ-course theme in a writing-emphasis course and a teams-emphasis course. In both courses, the EQ theme strengthened students’ understanding and enactment of key communication concepts in the course. The theme helped students learn content within the course, while preparing them to enter the workplace.
