Abstract

This paper presents a review of decentralized self-managing concept for IEEE 802.11 wireless LANs which I'm currently researching. Compared to existing IEEE 802.11 management concepts, where a central node computes and disseminates defined management information, decentralized operation of researched system improves reliability by eliminating central points of failure. Self-management feature of researched concept should be achieved without any kind of external influence, so access points have to be autonomous.
