Spiral-loaded low-profile monopole antenna with parasitic elements

Abstract

The analysis of a reference SLA shows that the frequency bandwidth of the VSWR is approximately 7%. To increase the VSWR bandwidth, two inverted L-shaped parasitic elements are added to the SLA. This antenna, referred to as the SLA-P, has a w-shaped VSWR frequency response curve with two minima, where the VSWR values in the lower frequency region are undesirably high.
