Fusion of Long-Wave and Mid-Wave Infrared Images

Abstract

Image fusion is an important application for increasing the information content of an image sensed by different sensors. Different detail information of the same scene sensed by different sensors are combined in a single image. In this paper, a system implementation for the fusion of LWIR and MWIR images is proposed. The proposed algorithm consists of image enhancement, registration and the fusion parts.
