Natural light and architectural synthesis: the experience of residential space

Abstract

The present study analyzes the use of natural light in architectural synthesis through the field of phenomenological architectural theory. It focuses on residential buildings, exploring the different ways natural light affects the dynamics and internal organization of space. This exploration is conducted taking into account the effect of natural light in the way that people interact with architectural space and the formation of their personal-subjective spatial experience. The study concludes that natural light can be used in architectural design to create complex, dynamic living spaces and enhance the spatial experience of residential architecture.
