In addition histopathological study was also carried out. Both the lower (200mg/kg) and higher dose (400mg/kg) of D.biflorus extract showed dose dependent significant decrease in SGPT, SGOT, ALP and TB levels when compared with toxic control. Both extracts showed decrease in LPO and increase in GSH, SOD and CAT levels. Hepatoprotective effect was also confirmed by histopathological analysis of liver which showed less damage in extract treated rats. The results obtained were comparable with that of the standard. Abstract
