Cybersecurity Virtual Labs for Pentesting Education

Abstract

Nowadays, as cybercrime has become more complex and pervasive, organizations must constantly defend themselves against threats. As a result, cybersecurity training is in high demand to protect platforms from potential breaks. Currently, many colleges, universities, trade schools, independent training organizations, and companies themselves are investing in cybersecurity training.Cybersecurity labs are an important part of such a training program designed to provide security experts with the required skills to fight the most sophisticated cybercriminals. The laboratory consists in a controlled environment for testing and evaluating cybersecurity solutions in real-life conditions. This paper is a foundation base for universities as well as for industries, having as a goal the ability to simulate in a safe environment multiple cyberattacks patterns.
